SkyPro GPS Status Tool
The SkyPro GPS Status Tool is a free Android application developed by Dual Electronics Corp. It is designed to be used with the SkyPro GPS Receiver (XGPS150/XGPS160/XGPS500). This app provides detailed information about the GPS receiver, including the GPS and GLONASS (XGPS160 only) satellites in view and their signal strength. It also displays the current location or indicates if the device is waiting for satellite information. Additionally, the app shows the connection status, battery level, and battery charging status of the GPS receiver. Users can also access recorded route information, such as the date and number of data points (except for XGPS150).
The SkyPro GPS Status Tool offers various features, allowing users to turn on/off automatic route recording, export recorded routes stored in the internal memory of the SkyPro GPS Receiver, and save recorded routes from the receiver into the app. Another useful function of this app is the built-in GPS helper, which eliminates the need for a third-party GPS helper application when connecting an external Bluetooth GPS receiver to Android devices.
To ensure proper functionality, it is recommended to keep the app running in the background at all times. This allows other apps to utilize GPS information from the XGPS. However, it is important to note that Android devices require the "Allow mock location" feature to be enabled in order to receive GPS information from an external GPS device like the SkyPro. The process to enable this feature may vary depending on the Android version.
